His day job of messing with computers aside, David loves music, likes playing around with guitars and has an extensive collection of old and new audio gear to further bolster that interest, including such fossils of the audio age as vinyl LPs (something that endears him to other fossils, specifically faculty, of that same age).

In his former, pre-IT life, David graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration/Economics from the University of Kansas. He later picked up a law degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City (a lapse in life for which we doctors now forgive him, given his many other graces!), with a stop along the way at the U.S. District Court in North Carolina. He segued from law to information technology in 1988 and has yet to look back (at least, that is what he tells us!).

David is married, and he and his wife, Linda, who works at a local nuclear power plant (no glow-in-the-dark jokes, please!) are the parents of two grown daughters; they are also grandparents twice over. David enjoys boating, water skiing and motorcycling, although, in his words, an aging back has made both water skiing and motorcycling activities that are best remembered than done.
