Anne L. S. Sullivan, M.D.
Program Director
Dr. Sullivan became CRMEF's Program Director in February of 2009. Prior to her appointment, she was Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine & Associate Program Director of the University's Family Medicine residency.
Dr. Sullivan was born in California and moved to Iowa as a teenager, later earning her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Iowa. Residency in family medicine took her back to California, but she returned to Iowa in 1997 to help open a new university-affiliated clinic in North Liberty, joining the College of Medicine faculty at the same time in an associate capacity.
Dr. Sullivan is the only board-certified adolescent medicine specialist in eastern Iowa and also has a special interest in women's health. In 2000 she became a full-time faculty member in the University's Family Medicine department, and in 2003 became Associate Program Director of the family medicine residency. In that role, she was deeply involved in residency curriculum design and administration, skills that she now brings to CRMEF.
Dr. Sullivan sees her role as a physician as more calling than profession and does her best each day to uphold what she believes is a sacred trust given to her by society and her patients. She looks forward to a time when every American has ready and affordable access to medical care.
Dr. Sullivan and her husband are the parents of two daughters. In her free time she enjoys skiing, golf, history and writing. | |
