CRMEF Faculty
Dr. Pandit joined CRMEF in October 2009 after completing residency at the Iowa Lutheran Family Medicine Residency in Des Moines.
Laxmi grew up in the historic town of Mysore, Karnataka, in India, the daughter of a cardiologist father, who still practices in Mysore, and a mother who herself has no fewer than two bachelor's degrees and four master's degrees. Two of Laxmi's siblings are themselves physicians, while another brother is a software engineer. Laxmi herself attended J.S.S Medical college in Mysore, India, before coming to the United States and doing residency in Des Moines. Along the way, she learned Indian classical dance (Bharathanatyam, to those in the know), which she practiced for 11 years.
Dr. Pandit's professional interests span the full spectrum of Family Medicine. In addition, she enjoys doing and teaching clinic-based procedures. When not on OB, precepting, doing procedures, on call or otherwise involved in residency activities, Laxmi finds pleasure in reading, writing, movies, swimming and outdoor activities. Her years in Iowa, first as a resident and now as faculty, have also now done the inevitable and made her a Hawkeye fan!
