Dr. Davenport was born and raised in rural Illinois, in a town of about 4,000. He earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and worked as an engineer for about four years prior to beginning medical school. He then attended medical school at the University of Illinois Chicago, College of Medicine at Rockford, Illinois.

Craig has an interest in rural clinical medicine and geriatric medicine. He is also a CRMEF alumnus, having completed his training here in 2010.

Dr. Davenport is married to Betsy, herself a resident at the University of Iowa, and both share the company of an overly privileged Persian cat, Quigley.

Craig enjoys hunting, camping, shooting sports, golfing, doing home repair/ remodel projects and watching the Green Bay Packers do what the Green Bay Packers were meant to do!
