Ron Reider, M.D.

Director of Continuing Physician Professional Development

Dr. Reider joined the Cedar Rapids program in 1978. He graduated from the University of Iowa and received his medical degree from the University of Virginia in 1971. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa in 1974, then entered the United States Air Force, where he practiced general Internal Medicine at small base hospitals. He holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics.

Dr. Reider coordinates the CME activities for the Cedar Rapids
medical community at large, including the conferences specifically targeted for the Family Practice Residency. He also shares responsibility for precepting at the Family Practice Center, making inpatient rounds, and taking night and weekend call. He is interested in Utilization Re-view and the Peer Review process.

Dr. Reider is married to Sue Reider. They are parents of three children Joshua, Meaghan, and Eamonn. Dr. Reider enjoys jogging, watching soccer and NCAA wrestling.
