CRMEF Faculty
Dr. Soenen was born in Sioux City, Iowa, and has since made a home in Storm Lake, Burlington, Iowa City and Des Moines, with a second stint in Sioux City, before moving on to Cedar Rapids, in order to join the faculty at CRMEF. Plot her path on a map, and you'd have to agree: she is, as she herself puts it, definitely an "IOWA girl."
Ann earned a B.S. in Biology and Psychology from the University of Iowa, working, during college, as a Park Ranger for the Army Corps of Engineers at Coralville Lake outside of Iowa City. She graduated from medical school at Des Moines University, then completed residency at the Siouxland Family Medicine Residency in Sioux City, Iowa, where she subsequently took up a faculty position.
Dr. Soenen is married to Brian, and they are the parents of two sons, toddler Owen and baby Toby. Her professional interests include full-spectrum family medicine. She enjoys canoeing and kayaking, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and, whenever call--and those two young children--allow, sleeping.
