Rafael Bayramgalin, MD

Ross University School of Medicine
Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies

Dr. Bayramgalin, or Dr. Bay, was born and raised in Ufa, Russia. He moved to Toronto, Canada with his family when he was 17 years old. He attended York University in Toronto as a Biology major and wrote his thesis on the physiology of bloodworms!

After recording an album with his indie-rock band, he went to medical school at Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Bayramgalin was able to explore the island of Dominica during his early training years and was able to hike to the biggest boiling lake, a volcano crater.

Dr. Bayramgalin's professional interests include pain management, dermatology and psychiatry and he feels lucky that he can do all of those things as a family doctor. Joining him in Cedar Rapids are his wife, Jenny, and their son, Leonardo. When Raf isn't taking care of patients, he enjoys traveling to places with a beach, ocean and hot weather! He also enjoys composing music, playing guitar, photography, sleeping, unproductive visits to the gym and thinking positive.
