Dr. Singh grew up in Punjab, India, the son of a civil engineer and full-time mother. A brother is an electrical engineer in India.

Gagan graduated from medical school in 2000 before practicing in India. From 2008 to 2010 he practiced family medicine in Goondiwindi, Queensland, Australia. He also served as a Cardiology Resident Medical Officer in a hospital in Punjab, India. He contributed to "Metabolic Syndrome," published initially in Diabetology and Metabolic Syndrome and since listed in Pub Med. In 2003, he also published an article on ACE inhibitors and Stevens-Johnson Syndrome in the India Journal.

Dr. Singh's professional interests include inpatient medicine and skin cancer. He is fluent in both English and Hindi. His wife, Chetna, is a pediatrician, and Chetna and Gagan are mom and dad to a son, Ansh, born on Gagan's very first day of residency here at CRMEF, and a daughter, Seerat. In his spare time, Gagan enjoys jogging, trekking and long drives.
