Dr. He grew up and finished his medical training in China. He worked as an orthopedic surgeon for three years before coming to the United States. He completed a Master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine in California and practiced acupuncture and Chinese herbology in California and Iowa for many years before entering the Cedar Rapids Family Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. He has a strong interest in pain management, integrative medicine, and nutritional supplements. He holds the philosophy that we should treat the patient's body and mind as a whole instead of individual symptoms.

Dr. He likes to spend time with his daughter, read thriller/mystery novels, and watch movies. He is also interested in Chinese Astrology and Fengshui.
