We began with an Introductory Letter and a PRETEST. We were also given a printout of our back pain patients clinical data (from our EMR), for our review during the week.

Our visiting prosecutor, "Dr. F. Lee Cochrane" [Dr. Myers] began the week with an Introductory Statement. Two witnesses were called, to indict 'Back Pain' of serious crimes and misdemeanors.

The CAT team found several high quality guidelines which were a basis for much of the week's discussions.

  • Michigan Low Back Pain Guideline.pdf
  • NEJM Low Back Pain Review.pdf
  • ICSI Low Back Pain Guideline.pdf
  • VA Back Pain Guideline.doc

The week ended with a consensus about what we need to change as individual doctors, and in our systems of care in the office. The PBLA team generated suggestions to be used when evaluating our asthma patients. System changes are being evaluated and made by our office management team.
