Dr. Bledar Haxhiu was born in Albania. After moving to Philadelphia with his family when he was 14 years old, he attended high school and earned his undergraduate degree from Ursinus College in Pennsylvania. Dr. Haxhiu completed his medical school training at American University of Integrative Sciences.
Dr. Haxhiu enjoys scuba diving, soccer and sailing. After purchasing a dilapidated sailboat with a friend in Chicago, they were able to successful sail around Lake Michigan with the help of some manuals and YouTube videos. Dr. Haxiu enjoys working in underserved communities and, after graduation, hopes to work in different countries where primary care is lacking. He and his wife, Diana, have two German Shepherds named Meatball and Mia.
